Momentum Shifts
Momentum is rarely lost in a single moment. It fades gradually. A decision delayed. A priority diluted. A sense of direction that becomes slightly less sharp. Most organisations do not notice the shift until progress feels heavier than it should.
Momentum shifts matter because they signal a change in energy, not just activity. Work may continue, but the forward pull weakens. People become reactive rather than intentional. Meetings increase. Decisions slow. The organisation starts managing itself instead of moving toward something.
The key is recognising the early signs. Momentum does not disappear. It disperses. It spreads across too many initiatives, too many interpretations, too many competing versions of what good looks like. The system becomes busy instead of directed.
Restoring momentum is not about acceleration. It is about alignment. Re establishing the centre of gravity. Re articulating the direction in a way that removes ambiguity and restores confidence. When people know where they are going, momentum returns naturally.
Progress is not speed. It is coherence.
